Help im a noobie.

Hello everyone i am currently new to all of this and especially to mining and i really need to earn bitcoins! (just like everyone else on here right...).
 Anyways i have downloaded Kiv's GIU Miner but something is not working right as when i launch the miner it says "no opencl devices were found". So i downloaded the AMD-APP-SDK-v2.8-windows-64.exe (windows 7 64 bit) and it wont launch the gui miner after i do that. I have also signed up for Slush's mining pool at bitcoin.cz. I really need help to start mining some coins!!

My specs are windows 7 64 bit, 4 gig ram, 300 gig hard drive, intel core 2 duo cpu 2.20ghz, and ATI Mobility Radeon 545v.

Yes i know i am currently searching youtube as fast as i can but i am most curious about if my graphics card can support opencl and where can i download open cl for the guiminer?

Hello there,

I think you installed the wrong software. In order to run an OpenCL application, you will need to install the OpenCL driver. By my understanding the AMD APP SDK is just that: A software development kit. The needed driver comes with the Catalyst Software Suite, but even then I'm not quite sure if it will work because I can not find any information on wether or not your GPU is capable of doing OpenCL. From the information on the manufacturers page I would rather say no, but there are some other sources with different opinions, so I think you will have to try it out.

You won't get but a trickle if it worked perfectly. In fact, all you will really accomplish is burning up your laptop for a penny or three.
IMO, I wouldn't torture your hardware. I suggest buying coins or if you really must attempt mining, buy cheap mining rig.

In case you haven't been keeping up, they are worth quite a bit these days, and not many will just hand out cash to strangers. You can buy them through different exchanges such as Mt. Gox. There are a few that will sell you small amounts of BTC but use good judgement in buying. Search around the buy/sell boards.
