I am thinking about doing some negotiations with them, but after MTGOX I was worried with those exchange companies. Did anybody already make some negotiation with them?

Kraken seems to have been stable and reliable in the past and still is so. In fact, they have been appointed by governmental authorities to oversee the settlement of Mt. Gox's bankruptcy settlement.

I have recently become active again after a long period of inactivity. Cryptographic proof that my account has not been compromised is available.

Yes I know Kraken, of course. They've been around a long time and I have an account with them for maybe 18 months. I don't have any BTC nor altcoin there at this time, but it's quick to make a transaction.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

Kraken is great. I've used them for 2.5 years with no problem so far. Highly recommend.

Yeah I agree with you, especially if the huge amount of bitcoin. Because store bitcoin in exchange too risky of being lost if it went bankrupt or scam. thank you

I have never used Kraken, but they have been around for a while. Anonymous trading is not possible with Kraken, and you need to verify your identity before you can deposit / withdraw large amounts of coins. I don't want to do this, and that is why I am sticking with BTC-e for the last four years. Also, Kraken is San Francisco-based, and the state authorities of California are mildly anti-Bitcoin.

If you mean just trading with them, you can probably trust them. They are one of the best and most reputable traders especially in Europe. They are probably as trusted as Localbitcoins escrow, or Coinbase.

But the point is that every exchange and business can collapse. You can't really predict.

Kraken seems to be a good exchange for European countries I guess. Also its a bad idea to hold your coins on an exchange. That is so not your personal wallet. For your insecurities, try using Localbitcoins ,very convenient.

Generally speaking I do not have good things to say about exchanges in general, but Kraken seems to be one of the better ones. They seem to be taking things seriously and getting the proper legal paperwork in place to operate.

Yeah that means no anonymity over the internet ? Also if asked by the directives ,they can submit all your records and transaction history on request. Its fine with people, not with me.I believe staying anonymous behind the internet and submitting documents to such exchanges compromises it.Peer to Peer is still the best option.

To each their own.

You essentially trade anonymity for security. Please see Moolah, empty gox, crypsty, and a bunch of others for examples of those who do not have their act together properly.

Kraken is one of the best exchanges around and I would highly recommend them.

They have been around for a long time and have not been in any major problems as far as I know. Also their communication and security measures are excellent.

As far as doing some trading on there and getting your funds out fast and cheap, you can't go wrong with kraken.

The only thing I don't really like is the trading pairs are switched compared to most other exchanges. So you get strange values that you are not used to until you switch them manually (you buy USD instead of sell btc).

yes, kraken is one of my favorite bitcoin exchange service among other services. and they have a smooth and good platform with nice options.

but none of these means that you can fully trust them, Mt.Gox was trusted once and was considered a good exchange service for bitcoin and we all know how that turned out.

so generally if you want to do anything on exchangers you have to accept the risks first, risks that you cant do anything about them in order to avoid.
