How to earn though Faucet website

Unless you can get a lot of referrals (hundreds or thousands) playing faucets bringing in small satoshis for you, faucet is not profitable for the users.

The thing is, if it is indeed a waste of time then why there are still so many people making it?

because some bitcoiners are from 3rd world country that even 1k satoshi worth something to them or maybe they can even live a day with it and some users don't know other ways on how to earn bitcoins.

If that's the case then when they know how sign campaign works and how much it pays then they could be like millionaires.

my advice:if you cannot get at least 50k unique viewers to your site,if you have less than 3 month's bank to get your faucet running WITHOUT any income from AD networks,if you do not know how to discourage bots and protect your site
do not even start
time spent on maintaining a faucet vs profit is almost at negative value
only the biggest and the strongest survive,most of them use unique or moded scripts and have > 200k users per day

This is not the reason, if 1k satoshi is enough for them to live for a day, how did they afford to buy the computer that they are claiming satoshis on?

Faucets are a great way for users to earn their first bitcoin, it's easy and even kind of fun. Also, some people will amass enough satoshis to buy something here and there, it's kind of like extra pocket change. Some people also can gain faucet referrals and gain a nice amount from them.

Public computer or they're hitching off someone else; however, that's not the point. I find it incredibly unbelievable that people can live off of literal pennies for an entire day; one thousand satoshi isn't even a cent.

Not really. It is impossibly hard to get a full bitcoin from fauceteering (otherwise everyone would be doing it), and I'm not sure what your definition of "fun" is but mine definitely isn't clicking through advertisements, hitting a button, and getting a pitiful amount.

I think that's true, in addition Adsense recently banned a lot of faucet sites, and that's make earning from owning faucet really harder.
