Any judge has a moral obligation to find out the truth, regardless of their own beliefs. Plenty of details regarding the Silk Road trial are dubious at best and warrant a new trial. Whether or not that will be the case, remains to be seen. The legal system does not work the way most people would want it, but the truth will come out, one way or another.
