[NOOBQuestions] Questions about mining and ASIC miners

Hi guys , im new here and after reading some topic about altcoins i've seen that it's possible to mine alternate cryptocurrencies with ASIC miner unless the asic and the cryptocurrency have the same Hash Algorithm ( correct me if I am wrong ) .
For example
Acoin Cryptocurrency can be mined with a normal bitcoin asic miner since they share the same Hash Algorithm . and so on .

also , there are some other kind of Asic miners which have a Scrypt algorithm , do they obviously mine XMR / DogeCoin / any Scrypt coin ? .
else where can i buy Scrypt miners / Asic SHA-256 Miners from ?

Overall , are altcoins worth being mined with ASIC miners ?

For bitcoin miners the only left company selling AFAIK is Bitmain:

Spondoolies-Tech and KnC were also good manufacturers of bitcoin miners but they closed their businesses. Though you can still get used miners, here or on ebay.
