I had a friend who held his coins from 2012 upto now. He had about 25kBTC from mining and doing heavy programming services from back then. He forgot about it since 2013 and I only reminded him about a few months ago and he's probably going to hold it out even further until maybe the value reaches $800.

Are you sure about 25000 bitcoins? I really doubt that value, doesn't your friend wanna live any life and just enjoy the current value of bitcoin? Roll Eyes

that is not a big number for bitcoin early adopters. there are many who have that much from the early days and many have forgotten they even have that much until recently.

i knew someone who had bought like $10 worth of bitcoin back when it was really cheap (less that $1) and found the coins many years later.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

You mean proud not PROUND right? I am also one of lucky persons who have known bitcoin, because nowadays only few persons had known this kind of currency. And I am very lucky because I am one of the few persons who have known this. And for me this is a blessing. And I am proud that I am one in the bitcoin communities.

For any new invention, the early users are normally the beneficiaries. In the case of bitcoin, I am very sure the people who were first to mine and use it are the biggest beneficiaries and have made huge profits from it. If the price of bitcoin was at one time $50 and now it is ranging over $650, then whoever held on the coins from that time must be a rich man or woman. I hope even for us, if we continue holding on it now, we might be rich people in 2 to 3 years to come when the price might probably be above $1000.

Yes it is like the beta testers or beta users. That is why many people are also trying to do that with altcoins. Look at ETH many also trusted that from the start and never given up. Look how much its price now. I guess it will still be on how many years your trust can take.
