ok I am very new to mining I followed antpool's instructions to connect to the pool and I put all the stuff in and save and apply and go to miner status and there is no pool there!

I suppose you have entered the pool information wrong, or that the miner cannot connect to the pool.

Can you post a screenshot of the "Miner configuration" tab?
