I bought some bitcoin through Coinbase. Tried to send that coin to my BITTREX wallet to trade. The amounts never showed up. however the transaction went through and my $400 gone.. I find it very odd that the amount I was trying to send does not match my the "amount transacted".
.....
the amount transactions from coinbase on the 28th was for −0.03614613 BTC (359.61 USD) fee of 0.00035518 BTC.
the transactions ID is c73f4c29efbb9dd24be483b5c3c14e6bbe35680192d8e58a56888f81ad8db9e5
the amounts do not jive with one another.
I'm not sure we have enough information here. Your Bittrex deposit history shows nothing?
From the transaction, I can tell a few things: 0.03614613 BTC - 0.00035518 BTC fee = 0.03579095 BTC. This amount was deposited to 1J6TzEfPjZRYmfyFtYnxMd3dNmJ6HRBYF2, which definitely appears to be part of an exchange hot wallet. So, I'm not sure what you mean by "the amounts do not jive with one another." It seems to match the $400 amount you mentioned above, and the your Coinbase withdrawal history appears correct, per the blockchain.
I basically pulled up my BITTREX account and clicked the plus symbol next to the BTC wallet (on computer). It generated a QR code that I scanned from the coinbase wallet to send from(iphone). Considering this was my first time I wouldn't never know if this wasn't my account or not. After logging in to see no pending amounts I clicked the plus symbol on my BTC wallet in BITTREX and it created a different address from what I had originally had sent it to. I never manually put in anything an only scanned the only QR at the time. Apparently BITTREX doesn't change your wallet ID's so im unsure of how my account or accounts were compromised.
You can generate additional deposit addresses, but old addresses should still work, as I've heard nothing about a Bittrex wallet upgrade or compromise and this wallet still appears to be in use by the exchange.
Here's my worry: You said this was your "first time" depositing to Bittrex. Is that true? Because when I check the deposit address 1J6TzEfPjZRYmfyFtYnxMd3dNmJ6HRBYF2 (which matches your deposit amount from above), it has received multiple deposits between June and August 2017. I don't believe that Bittrex would assign your account a "used" deposit address from its hot wallet, as it would be associated with someone else's account.
