There is also a thread at coinbase community about this issue.

1. The coinbase api callback does not work:
It means that our system does not receive a confirmation from coinbase saying the transaction has been done. It is very frustrating. The problem started in march.

2. Coinbase API uses couldflare and it is unsafe:
Cloudflare is a proxy. It means that:

a. for https, there is a first link between your client and cloudflare server and then another link between cloudflare and coinbase.
b. Cloudflare can inject codes in between. They have already done it.
c. Cloudflare can monitor coinbase transaction.
d. Cloudflare can spy on coinbase transactions
e. Cloudflare can block coinbase transactions.

3. Coinbase: too many security measure:
Coinbase have added so many security measures so that it is very difficult to login from computer each time. They want to look like a bank.

I'm not a fan of Coinbase either just because of the fact that they ask you for real information's before being able to use their services (buying / selling coins).

However, their API seems to be working just fine : https://coinbase.statuspage.io/
I'm with the security measures though since it protects the users , that way customers accounts don't get hacked that easy. CloudFlare in the other hand is added for security measures as well and using HTTPS is better then HTTP If they don't want the bank accounts information's and credit cards compromised . I don't understand what do you mean by "block transaction or spy on transactions since everything is available on the blockchain. Other than that , I don't even see why would CloudFlare do that to in the first place.

I used coinbase as a developer and I regretted it very hard.
The entire site is unstable (at best) and not to mention the support... ehw!

When I started I noticed that some API function where not working on PHP. Not a big problem, I could do a workaround without problems.
Some month later, the callbacks suddenly stopped working. If I hadn't noticed in time (and that was complete luck) the website I was working on would be in SERIOUS DANGER because everything was about callbacks and this problem came without a single warning.

I made another workaround with the power of desperation and contacted the support with extreme hurry to fix the problem or at least helping me out... but they said that everything was fine. It was my problem and they couldn't help me.
I contacted them again but this time without answer. I contacted them again and again but no answers at all, so I created another account and tryed again... THEY ANSWERED!!!
That was incredible, they were just ignoring me, like the problem I was talking about.

In the meantime their forum was exploding because many people encountered this problem and after 2 weeks... they admitted it.
They said that something made the callbacks stop and they were working to fix it.

No need to say that I was furious. Their behaviour was inexcusable.

Months later (yes, months) they fixed the problem, but I can't tell because I changed the service long time ago.

hey guys you should try www.Blocktrail.com! We have the highest amount of API request available in the whole bitcoin space and it's totally free! Oh and our up-time is much better than blockchain's or coinbase Wink

Please let me know if you have any questions Smiley
