...

Yeah well I too have watched all the doom porn for a long time (and actually enjoy it as entertainment).

There ARE serious problems in the financial system however.  There are also threats, which are hard to quantify much less predict, about actual disasters like a dollar collapse.

Anyone who has any concerns (I do) should consider diversification outside of the financial system, including Bitcoin.  My *guess* is that a horrible collapse of the US$ would take BTC with it...

Hyperinflation in the USA (same probably for Europe) might be good for Bitcoin.

I would not have a very high percentage of (your net) assets in Bitcoin.  1% - 3% max.  Bitcoin is a great speculation though.

Bitcoin owes it's very existence to fiat currencies.
Without them Bitcoin is worth zero dollars in the eyes of the community.
Until Bitcoin is given worth otherwise I can believe nothing else.

with that logic, gold, stocks and oil are also owing their existence to fiat currencies and without them they would go to zero something that we all know is not right and is the exact opposite. meaning they would go higher when dollar collapses.

And how could they take the advantage for dollars collapsing?  Do you see what happen on global financial crisis all nations are affected to that and maybe a crisis again will be happen if usd will crash. , and another maybe if dollars will crash a  big possibilities that bitcoin or any goods will be collapsed also because we all know that bitcoins are at dollars based price we cannot tell what worse will be happen to it when that bad scenario will be really happen in the near future.

You have an exact point. its not only bitcoin would be affected but  all those things that are connected to dollars which is almost all dependent into it and its been used worldwide. If it crash then for sure those  things would crash to since they are dependent to each other. How much more in bitcoin? it would definitely decrease its price too.

There is a lot of videos and articles around the web about how the dollar will collapse on 27 September 2016.
I'm not sure how exactly they got this date, even If it's not the real date, It seems like a lot of experts keep saying that a collapse is coming soon.

Assuming that the Dollar collapse indeed , what does it mean for Bitcoin exactly ?

US dollar won`t colapse.USA is still the biggest economy in the world and the largest buyer.

All the other big countries like China and Germany export goods to USA and they need a strong USD.

More than a half of the world is using US dollars. There is no way USD to colapse.

i dont think that it just wont collapse sooner or later it will come to an end in my opinion and bitcoin will have a possibility to replace it

Let's say the dollar collapses for some reason, just theoretically. Maybe even the whole fiat system.
Would it be possible to attach the bitcoin price to gold then?
Such as, 1btc = 15oz gold?

The way to look at it, there are many currencies in the world, US dollar, Euro, Japanese yuan, Canadian dollars ...
Which one will be the first to collapse?
I guess it will be Euro.

yes of course. as long as the dollar exists there will always be a exchange rate USD/BTC. but if nobody will be using it, then no exchange will display it and they wont offer to exchange to dollar. same goes for bitcoin and gold. there is an exchange rate but not many exchanges list it since almost nobody is offering to exchange gold for bitcoin.

I don't think the dollar will collapse for now, but once that happen bitcoin certainly could go up, like after the events in China last year.

I don't see USD collapsing any time soon. it could end up being replaced by something else, but it won't collapse overnight like some people like to believe. it'll be a slow process that will consume and destroy economies all over the world before having any real effect on US economy. It will happen, but calling it a "collapse" is not accurate. more like transformation. who knows, maybe eventually the US goverment will realize they can't keep printing money forever and create some kind of hybrid USD-crypto currency?

Well actually they can keep on speculate, but even though it really happen, nothing will happen to bitcoin because bitcoin price is not related to dollar, we only use dollar as a comparison on how much we earn and how many things can we bought
