We wanted to reach out to get some support from the community to help crowdfund a Tesla Model S concept car build that you will have a chance to drive when completed.

We design concept cars and also distribute aftermarket parts for performance, luxury, and exotic vehicles. We are most known for our work on Tesla models. The market has responded well to our work; so well in fact that Tesla refreshed the Model S and built the Model 3 borrowing elements from our Tesla Super Coupe design. We released the coupe design almost two years before the current Model S refresh and Model 3 reveal.

The next step is to build the prototype. The funds raised here will be used to acquire a Tesla Model S vehicle, complete the conversion, and market it through the following:

SEMA Show 2016
Los Angeles Auto Show
Uber
Lyft
Turo
Getaround

Dividends will be paid through income generated from P2P uses. Once the vehicle has gained enough exposure, we project 15 to 25 sales to end users that will want a turnkey build. Profit will be factored into the price of the turnkey conversion and any outstanding debt will be paid through sales of these vehicles. We anticipate dividends to start being paid out about 18 months after the prototype vehicle is completed and the entire loan to be paid off in approximately 36 months. In essence this is similar to a construction loan, but for a vehicle.

Project breakdown:
Tesla Model S conversion prototype (185 BTC or approximately $120,000 USD)
P2P sales 25 BTC or approximately $15,000 USD
Vehicle sales 225 BTC or approximately $150,000 USD
*break even at approximately 10 vehicles sold*

Loan terms:
185 BTC +/- $120,000 USD at 8.5% interest, due in 36 months and collateralized by Tesla Model S
Interest only payments begin 18 months after completion of the build, approx .50 BTC +/- $285 USD monthly
Balloon payment of 200 BTC +/- $130,200 USD due 36 months after completion of the build
Considering time is an important resource for us and our investors, the loan will be paid back before 36 months if sales quotas are met prior to our projections.

Anyone who is eligible for P2P uses as mentioned above is welcome to drive the vehicle upon completion. Of course we would gladly accept referrals (and offer compensation) to anyone who would be interested purchasing the prototype outright as a turnkey vehicle.

so will repayments be made based on the original bitcoin amount or the equivalent value in usd? there's a whole world of potential hurt for yourselves or your investors if there are violent price movements with either method.

either the investors are gonna be extremely unhappy if bitcoin goes through the roof and they miss out on the rise if it's usd locked, or you'll be unable to meet the payments if it stays in bitcoin.

there's a long history of unhappiness with bitcoin loans. you'd better clarify that position before people consider throwing some money in.

I have seen the Telsa's in real life and with it having bitcoin involved it can make it much more inviting for me to actually think of having one in the far future.
The ones that I witnessed were driver less. Just like the google car is.

The automotive industry could benefit by accepting bitcoin payments and implementing other financial technologies. Tesla is at the forefront of the industry in comparison to other manufacturers, except Mercedes.

I think this funding will get much more support here, if you promise to incorporate some Bitcoin features in the car. A possible suggestion could be for people to have a built-in Bitcoin wallet to pay for electricity at charge stations and to automate this feature in the car.

You can make use of micro payments for this purpose, to pay for short charges. Other payment options have higher fees and will not be a viable option for the customers. I can get a $50 cent charge with virtually no fees with Bitcoin and this will work very well in urban areas, where you quickly stop for a drive thru coffee and a quick charge whilst you wait.

All this can be paid from the built in hardware wallet {Trezor} in the on board computer of the car. People just love convenience and would like a wallet built into their car. They can transfer money to it from their phone or even from work.

Later this wallet can be used to pay for parking fees and you can do this remotely from your smart phone. Hope to see a Bitcoin and Tesla partnership soon. Royalties for the ideas can be discussed in private. ^smile^

I would love a automated wallet built into my car, because our local shopping centers have a parking system, where you receive a paper stub at entry with a magnetic strip at the back, and then you have to stand in a queue at a automated machine to pay for the parking fees. The challenges is as follows :

1. The card always gets lost and then you have to pay the maximum amount to get out of the parking area for a new card.
2. You waste time standing in the queue to pay for the parking.
3. It is coin operated, so the reader sometimes malfunction and you have to look for another machine at another entrance.

The wallet in the car, can automate this whole process and make my life easier. The shopping Malls can help to fund this idea, because they will not have to pay fees for the counting of the money or the fees associated with the collecting and the banking of the money from these old machines. ^smile^

They can even create a express lane for the people who has Bitcoin wallets and keep the old system for the people without Bitcoin.

That project may be out of our scope of work, but it definitely makes sense from an infrastructure standpoint for parking garages and pay stations to accept bitcoin for the reasons you mentioned.
