Much hullabaloo has been made of BFL ASIC's idle power draw of 40W.

However, if you recall in the original specifications the BFL Jalapeño was required to be a USB powered coffee warmer.

The original power requirements were insufficient for this application so a resistive heating element was added to the chip package. Now, after 6 months of design and repackaging BFL customers will have the world's first combined coffee warmer/bitcoin hasher.
