Alt-coins todays progression

Hello! I wasn't paying that much attention to alt-coins at all for the last half a year. Can someone write a quick post of what alt-coins are active, which ones are worth mining? Also, is there any preset miner software (I remember using one for mining doge coins a year or two before)? Are there any alt-coins worth mining w/o a mining rig? I've visited coinwarz website and it got pretty confusing...
