Hello,

I'm a newbie and I'm using BitcoinPlus to produce bitcoin. Can anybody tell me the effectiveness of this way to produce bitcoin and possible to compare with other programs or ways of producing bitcoin? I'm reading to much here about mining and producing bitcoin but I'm still confuse because I don't understand the most things that I read...

Thanks

CPU mining is worthless now and much less through Java applets.
BitcoinPlus mines using the CPU through Java applets.
Thus, BitcoinPlus is worthless.

(also, I have seen people saying that even if you manage to mine a few satoshis, there are problems with cashing out. But that's not true for everyone it seems ^^^)

You need to generate minimum of  0.01000000 BTC before you can withdraw. May take you a while to get there on a CPU.

This software is absolutely useless. It is quite possibly the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. You get more money from http://dailybitcoins.org/.

The "hashrate" of this miner, on my CPU, is less than 1 MHz. Regular CPU mining gets 5 MHz. A single GPU gets 200 MHz. A single Avalon ASIC gets 66000 MHz. If these numbers don't make sense, let me present them in a table:

MethodHashrateTime for 1 BTC @ current difficulty
BitcoinPlus (Google Chrome)0.58 MHz95 years
BitcoinPlus (Native Java)1.33 MHz27 years
DailyBitcoins11 years
Ufasoft CPU Miner4.77 MHz7.5 years
One GPU200.00 MHz2 months
One Avalon ASIC66000.00 MHz5 hours
One ASICMiner farm12000000.00 MHz96 seconds

Are you using bitcoin plus on your website or running it on your own computer?

If you are running it on your website and crowd sourcing the mining, then it may work out for you.

But take into account that you would need a sizable amount of traffic to your website and users need to accept a big ugly popup that warns them that a script is running on your website.

If 1 million people visit your website for 100 seconds each every day, that's a 100 million seconds at 0.5 MHz. That's roughly 600 MHz, or less than 1% of an Avalon GPU. You'll get less than 0.05 BTC per day.

I think bitcoinplus is a scam. Please search this website. If you ever generate enough to create a payment ( 0.1 etc) it crashes with an error and you never get your bitcoins.

Please don't take my word for ths. Google bitcoinplus scam and search this forum.

Thanks

i dont think it's worth the time. also though it's probably not worth mining on a regular everyday pc at this point. it's getting harder and harder to mine and its only going to get harder. i actually think it's amazing that the creator of bitcoin set it up like this,  reward those who got in early and helped btc grow and make it harder as time goes on to mine coins when btc has gotten more popular.
