USE: Windows and Electrum-2.7.1

Hi,

I have a few questions I hope to find someone who is the answer  Roll Eyes

1.
I am trying to connect to TOR servers but no does not work.

Example:
fdkbwjykvl2f3hup.onion
fdkhv2bb7hqel2e7.onion
fvp6l534jddm6qw4.onion
ozahtqwp25chjdjd.onion

At present no TOR server that works or is a mistake for me?

2.
Is there somewhere website with a list of servers for Electrum?

3.
When a new version comes Electrum client and server supports it?

Example:
- Server only supports the version for which it was created?
- The server is able to update itself to a new version?
- The structure of the server is not changed (changing only the client so the server has no problem with the new client)?

4.
It is possible with the new version Electrum connected directly via TOR Browser?

If yes please guide (Tutorial).

1. Do you have Tor browser running? The onion links will only work if the network is connected to the Tor network. Open Tor browser first. Next, press the green button and make sure to use the proxy with 127.0.0.1 as the IP and 9150 as the port. Do not use the auto connect option and key in the server manually. Do not close Tor browser or the network would be disconnected.

2. Here is a live monitor: https://1209k.com/bitcoin-eye/ele.php

3. AFAIK, the change in Electrum version does not affect the compatibility with the servers. The servers should however, have an updated Bitcoind backend.

Is any wrong color? (I understood something wrong?)

PS:
Is there a command to the console in electrum which shows the current IP address of the connected server?

The proxy that you are connecting to is used to connect to the tor network. AFAIK, you can't use any application on the Tor network without configuring them to use a proxy.

A good thing to keep in mind: A new wallet has to be created after connecting to the Onion server to ensure privacy.

And no, from what I can tell, there is no such command.

LINUX TAILS OS- is your solution to your problem. It comes with electrum pre installed or you can restore your actual wallet through your seed words there and TAILS OS have one specific that is it routes all the traffic through the TOR network, this way you will have your privacy protected.

https://tails.boum.org/

Read there thoroughly then download the ISO burn it in a DVD and use this LIVE OS anytime you need privacy. Problem solved.

Windows and privacy is just a pair that will never work no matter how hard you try.

All the users caught on Silk Road, drugs and other illegal activities had one characteristic in common.

They were dumb enough to be using Windows.

With Tor Browser or TAILS running use one of the .onion servers listed here and these settings in Electrum:
