Scrypt Miners: Any idea what sort of 'new product' cycle we're looking at?

Is there any way to tell how far off we might be from better h/s products hitting the market?

Do companies like Bitmain have to wait for other chip companies to produce more efficient chips for example? Or do they do it all in house?

Any idea when they'd launch a successor to the antminer L3+ ?

Apologies if these don't really have a direct answer.
