Hi All,

I'm new to cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, and blockchain. But, I have shiny object syndrome and this stuff has me hooked. I'm hoping you all can help me with some answers and if my questions have been answered before, let me know and point me in the right direction.

My questions revolve around two topics:

Starting a development shop. Managed via open book, shares profits with all members, makes decisions based on input from all members, and is transparent in all aspects to its members. The company would develop products and consult in the blockchain/cryptocurrency domain.

Where are the best places to find people that have experience building and launching dapps, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies?

Launching a new cryptocurrency and dapp for business management. I've been looking around on this forum for awhile and there seems to be a lot of questionable coins being offered, with hacked together proposals and information. I'm interested in understanding the correct way to launch and fund a currency and application.

What is the acceptable process for launching a currency?
What properties are you looking for in a new currency?
How would you as someone thinking of purchasing/mining some coins like to see the information presented?
Are there some good prior launch campaign examples to look at?

TIA

Here in the forums, look at the Alt forums. Also, read reddit (/r/bitcoin, /r/btc, and /r/cryptocurrency)

What is the acceptable process for launching a currency?
Community support, no pre-mine, and published source code. You also need to be able to have a good reputation and back up any claims with facts, not marketing hype.

What properties are you looking for in a new currency?

Nothing specific at this point in time. There's a ton of altcoins that already supports lots of features.

How would you as someone thinking of purchasing/mining some coins like to see the information presented?

Website and a well-formatted post in the Announcement section of the forums.

Are there some good prior launch campaign examples to look at?

Look in the announcement forums, there are a lot of them. WAVES was really successful at funding, so was DAO.

The project you are talking about sound similar to what DAO have intended to do but they fail due to bugs in their codebase. So i think you can look around about ethereum smart contract and dampps and develop DAO like damps with better security however i don't think people who have lost so much in DAO before gonna trust another project with similar concept. There is lisk out there just like ethereum but based on javascript, if you can make damps under lisk sidechain than it may gain popularity but for devlopment only it may require alot of funds. You need to first build a good team with some damps and smart contract experts before starting this project.

Both Waves ([FACT] WAVES = ICO SCAM -https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1530926.0) and DAO (hacked, as a result created split in the ETH community, hard fork) at some point failed.
They are examples of overhyped marketing and crowd mentality taking over reality.

Op, if you don't have something extraordinary in mind, then it is better to not start another ICO.

Wasn't sure if you realized that Incent support is in your signature, which will run on the Waves platform. Selling fruit of the poisonous tree?

Stop right here.Assuming you're a newbie, you have a whole lot of possibilities to explore.Too soon to make decisions about the new coins.

Starting a development shop. Managed via open book, shares profits with all members, makes decisions based on input from all members, and is transparent in all aspects to its members. The company would develop products and consult in the blockchain/cryptocurrency domain.

That's basically just another bitcoin software development service ? The competition is stiff.

Where are the best places to find people that have experience building and launching dapps, blockchain, and cryptocurrencies?

Literally all over the internet, mainly services section of this forum.Stay away from scammers, always use an escrow.

That comes with experience!

1.Development->Pre-ICO->ICO->Promotion->Launch!
2.Nothing.Bitcoin has everything what I need. (Personal preference)
3.By a group of trust worthy devs offering something unique and creative.Solving real world problems,I may add.
4.RISE/WAVES

Thank you all for the time to reply to my questions.

I'm thinking that an ICO is probably not in my immediate future. If that changes and I have a good coin idea that is worth developing, you all will be the first to know!

Someone asked what I'm after exactly, I want to work with blockchain and cryptocurrencies. I work with databases for a living and economics interests me. A cryptocurrency is the blending of these domains, and I'm hooked. I feel blockchain will be a major technology in the near future and I want to be a part of it, and develop applications, frameworks, platforms that are useful to the community. Cryptocurrencies are changing the way we exchange value, this is very interesting to me and I want to understand as much as I can and at some point contribute back to the community.

Thanks again!
