At the Citi Internet, Media & Telecommunications conference, Netflix chief financial officer David Wells expressed his optimism towards Bitcoin, and how it is shaping to become the global currency of most major industries.
According to Cointelegraph , he stated this : “It sure would be nice to have Bitcoin in terms of a global currency that you could use globally.”
So could we see this as an attention to add Bitcoin and other crypto currencies to Netflix or there is no chance ?

What about this? in my opinions if bticoin already be a globally in this time, but for the global currency of the major companies i just think not for this time, bitcoin are need more for implies until the major companies are wanna using bitcoin. the question are yes the netflix will wanna for accepting btc soon, considered from this statement by their executive. but i sure if the netflix are want for accepting bitcoin until the bitcoin already be a part of the major companies. and not for making a big things for accepting bitcoin in this time and the answer is SOON.

If he (the executive) said so, then we actually have a lot of chance. But I'm not really sure about the other crypto currencies, there's maybe a chance for Bitcoin but not for the altcoin.
There have been more high level people saying unrealistic things to happen within a certain amount of time. But them saying something isn't enough to actially make it happen. The only thing they can do is put their time into getting closer to what they have planned with Bitcoin. Look at the Winklevoss twins. They have stated that Bitcoin will be worth $100,000 per coin at some point. Who on earth believes that nonsense? They are only out to hype up everything so their own stash of coins will increase significantly in value. They also stated that they won't sell any of their coins, which is exactly what they have done. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Bitcoin is enough for all people as it can do everything we want it to do, so why looking at altcoins?

David Wells only expressed his optimism regarding Bitcoin! He hasn't made any predictions or promises. I see this more as a possible outcome. And he is right about that. The chances are good for Bitcoin to make the global breakthrough, but nothing is for certain!

As mentioned in the Press subforum, this wasn't a recent comment by the executive. Both CoinDesk and Cryptocoinnews both published this story back in January when the comment was initially made that it " sure would be nice to have bitcoin". I'm still baffled as to why CoinTelegraph have only just put up an article about it now, when it happened 10 months ago. Unless they know something we don't, it doesn't look like Netflix are any closer to accepting BTC as payment.

Hoping they will adopt bitcoin.

aside from whether or not it will really happen, i think people aren't ready for it. look at how small the bitcoin economy is right now, and how low the number of people is that are spending their coins. and that while a lot people here are so optimistic about the currency aspect of bitcoin. as long as people don't see bitcoin as money/currency, it will be a more than difficult task to get people to spend their coins.

The relative stability in bitcoin's price has led to a paucity of news for crypto-journalists.

this is pretty interesting, i read more of the things they said and i have the feeling that they are warming up to bitcoin and yeah i think it is possible that we see bitcoin accepted on netflix which i think would be a huge step forward.

oh? So this is a recycled news? Sometimes we are very excited and posting unconfirmed news in a hurry ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Though this news is a welcome one,and we are expecting more companies to join. Hope, Netflix will implement soon and this news will be validated.

Yes, there is a chance for bitcoin to be a global currency cos bitcoin has a lot of challenge and overcome it all. This make people including Netflix believe in bitcoin. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
