So my Electrum wallet won't open and when I open the wallet file in notes it gives me 00010101000101 and so on.

I lost my seed it was in my backpack and that was stolen a few weeks ago but it wasn't noted saying electrum seed or anything related just the 13 random words on a notecard.

What do you think happened hacked or corrupted? Everything else on my hard drive works fine it's only that one file. I really need to recover my wallet it has $1,000 on it  Cry

Thoughts?

Sounds corrupted, got any backups?

Thoughts?

A backpack seems like the worst place for a 1000$ bill seed covering 1000$.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

No I don't have any backups I don't understand it's only this one file that went corrupt.

I wonder if there is any chance at all that it is Electrum on your computer that got hosed and maybe NOT the wallet?  Its a long shot but I'ld give it a try.  Do you know how to find your wallet on your computer.  What if you take that small wallet file and attempt to open it on another computer with Electrum?  Again, a long shot but what do you have to lose other than a few minutes just to know for sure.

After backing up (saving) your wallet file, can you create a new wallet using that Electrum on the computer where YOUR current wallet won't open?  I am just trying to eliminate Electrum "hosed" as opposed to a corrupted wallet file.

Give it a try and let us know.

what is the name of the file and where is it located on your hard drive? take a look at the link below to see the location of electrum wallet files:

http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#where-is-my-wallet-file-located

the wallet file contains json which is a human readable data storage format. it wouldn't be binary code like you've pasted above.
