How's this for an idea.  As the postal system fails, a snailmail delivery system paid for by bitcoin.  Not one post office for every zip code, one central processing center for every city.  User gets an email or text message notice when mail arrives with their shipping code upon it.  User shows up to claim mail, proves who they are by actually paying for it in bitcoin in the office.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

- Carroll Quigley, CFR member, mentor to Bill Clinton, from 'Tragedy And Hope'

I'm not sure that there will be a sufficient market. I hardly ever send snail mail.

Snail mail cannot completely shut down. The current system is broke and broken, so maybe the idea of BitMail is something to consider.

Very interesting idea, but maybe not integrated with bitcoin.
First of all it is necessary to recognize bitcoin as a monetary tool. After that, bitcoin's office will be forced to obtain a license to operate in the state. From this point bitcoin will cease to be anonymous.

Mail business has been very slow due to the social media and the use of mobile phones and computers. Instead of mail delivery it was replaced by package delivery but in certain countries mail deliveries is still alive but the activities is very small compared to that of the mail services on the past. Possibly to cope up with the times mail delivery business has made this innovation to use bitcoin as a way to make their transaction payments more efficient as well as attracting more customers.
