When coinwallet.eu is doing their stress tests they use a fee of .0005 btc, so if you are in a hurry you need to match that fee or increase to .0006.

That is useful to know.  Thanks, BitcoinNewsMagazine!  Good info for me.

Almost all of my BTC transactions are "important" (not micropayments), so if it needs to be BTC0.0006 during Blockchain Attacks (= stress tests), well I can live with that.

Are you sure about this -- do you have a source? The only things I recall seeing were a a) Coindesk article that said some fees were in excess of 0.0001, and b) the Github.io page (escapes me now) where fees at the very height of the stress test (very short term) required 0.0004-0.0005 fee to be included in the next block.

When there is a backlog in the mempool, it doesn't necessarily follow that you need to pay more than the highest fees that Coinwallet paid.

Funny, the fees paid at the very height of the stress test were the standard fee (or less) a couple years ago.

The best and the fastest(with no delay) seems that is 41-50 satoshis for every byte. There is also mentioned that without fee (0satoshi) it takes 70-780minutes so around 13 hours max not bad if not in hurry.
This statement isn't too accurate. Free transactions are also ranked by their priority.
Code:
priority = sum(input_value_in_base_units * input_age)/size_in_bytes
The higher the priority, the faster it can be confirmed provided that it is less than 1kb, all outputs are more than 0.01 and the priority is higher than 57,600,000. I had sent 0.001BTC transactions without fee before and it took a hell lot of time, around 4-5days. The transaction time is more affected by network load than anything else. During the stress test, even with quite a good priority and high amount of coins in the outputs, it took several days.

Maybe that is true about the delay but i have seen many transaction without fee that have been confirmed in a day and many other that have never been confirmed and the balance was sent back to the sender.

Mine takes usually one day, maybe two or three maximum if there are a lot of transactions pending. I send them with 0.0001BTC in fees if I need to transfer my funds to other wallets I own, or if I need to send it to friends or people that trust me. If I need to trade with someone or so, I am usually sending the normal fees unless they're over 50k satoshis.

Hi folks,

I would like to know what is a usual fee to attach to a transaction? Is there any webpage where I can check the current recommended fee?

Thank you very much in advance!
i think recommended fee transaction is 0,0001 you can check in blockchain wallet,if you have a lots bitcoin and still takes a long time when the transaction you can increase fee be 0,0002

Hmm, indeed for normal transactions usually incur a fee 0.0001 BTC. but for the users of blockchain it may be a little different if you're using automatic transactions. Where each of us using the blockchain definitely set a fee to be paid in any such transactions, and I think any fee we give will definitely give a great impact in the transfer speed. Because confirmation also require a fee and will be given by miners who do the confirmation.

But nowadays these are also not working well and the transactions with that fees often take more hours to complete one confirmation. I have blockchain wallet and a few hours ago I transacted some amount and they automatically took 0.0004 BTC as the fees and the transaction took lesser time to complete.

0.0001 btc fee in my experience sometimes its ok but sometime it takes too long to receive because the transaction size is not all the same..
And i think they are now relaying in transaction size.. and most of the miner fee they are confirm first who are paying a large fee than low fee.
But i am staying in 0.0005 btc fee because i am satisfied with the speed of the transaction just few minutes you can receive it.. so if you really want to dont experience of delay better to set your fee for a better amount..

Make crypto as your bank.

I think the fee was too high. BTC 0.0006 is equivalent to $ 0.42 even possible when you use paypal. you will not get a transaction fee as expensive as it was, I used to use fee 10k satoshi, but I had to wait for more than one day to receive my bitcoin

I'm new to bitcoin and didn't even notice there are transaction fees. I remember just sending some bits to my cousin and he got it instantly. Maybe I was just lucky.

EDIT: Just asked him now. Turns out it's because we're using the same local bitcoin exchange. Yikes, I feel like a total noob now.

Having a small fee for your transaction have nothing to do with when you will receive bitcoin because after the sender clicking the send button the bitcoin will arrive into your wallet immediately but the fee affects the confirmation and could make it delayed. I thought that 10k satoshi is pretty low fee and AFAIK fee are now increasing a little bit but I'm sure that having 10k satoshi as a fee won't make your transaction not confirmed for a whole day, i often use the same fee though

Yes. If a transaction without fees can confirm, it does not necessarily means that your transaction which has a larger priority, output amount can be confirmed in that same timeframe. Miners will always have the last call about which transaction to confirm. They can choose to include other transactions but not yours.
