Calculating profitability? What makes one coin profitable than another?

So I was trying to figure out what type of equation CoinWarz.com uses to calculate profitability. There's so much information shown it's hard to tell how it all gets factored in. Any additional discussion on what makes a particular coin more profitable than another would be a help too.
