Explain low LTC Pool hash rates

Hi,

With the late craze i was wondering why according to the vircurex graphic (on the bottom of the page) LTC has the lowest HASH Rate compared to PPC and NMC?

I just don't get that

LTC uses a different algorithm for proof of work (scrypt instead of SHA256).  Scrypt is [roughly] 1000 times slower than SHA256 on most mining hardware.  As a result, you cannot compare its speed to non-scrypt altcoins.
