Can somebody explain why some pools take no fees at all? How they pay for their servers.

Personally I`ve got best results on deepbit with it high fees than on other pools. So maybe there isn`t no fees at all, as pool owners say in their topics? Huh

Most no-fee pools rely on donations. Users contribute as much as they want to, and often gain various perks for doing so.

If the network were more transaction intensive there would be some payment from transaction fees, but my guess is that it's really limited right now...

Edit:
BTCGuild publishes detailed data.  Their fees are 0.2% of their revenue.
