I've been finding it impossible to acquire BitCoins using my UK bank account since MtGox and Intersango blocked transfers through GBP transfers.

I've been looking at making deposits using a SEPA wire (for example, at bitcoin-central) but my bank (Natwest) charges extortionate amounts for such transfers.

Are there any UK banks that don't have such high fees, or is there another way I can deposit money (or get BitCoins in general) from the UK?

Maybe it will be cheaper for you to wire funds to our EUR account after getting them converted.

(Don't send GBP to our EUR account or the other way around, our bank charges ridiculous foreign exchange fees).

I ended up sending money to your account through an exchange service (transferwise) that only charged £1 for the transfer, although yeah I had to convert to Euros first.

Hopefully this will work, I'm not really sure about that site, only issue here is it'll take more than a week for the money to hop from me, to them, to you.

The C0-Operative Bank £8 per SEPA Transfer capped at Euro50K.

Exchange rate Friday 26 Oct.

£1=Euro 1.22.

There seem to be a couple of other options

Bitinstant.com - now have a bank transfer method from the UK
Blockchain.info/wallet - allow you to transfer funds for bitcoins through Barclays' Pingit service.

Thanks for the transferwise info  - didn't even know this existed.
Someone more eloquent than me should contact them about the bitcoin possibilities of their service.

EDIT:

Did a bit of research on transferwise (I used google and clicked on the 2nd link) - they were startup of the week in August on wired:

http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-08/22/startup-of-the-week-transferwise

By the clothes they are wearing in the photo these guys look well placed for grooming by the bitinstant guys.

EDIT2:

"TransferWise was founded by Taavet Hinrikus (the first employee of Skype)" - screams bitcoin to me - wouldn't be surprised if they weren't already using Bitcoin to make these cheap transfers.
