I've seen people telling me that I should use a dedicated mining box instead of, say, my personal gaming rig, but I wanted to hear it from the experts.

I GPU mine with a 7850, which maxes out at 65 degrees, and never gets higher. Fans get up to about 40% with good ventilation. I can get about 256 MHash/S with this card.

Serious graphical errors and refracts appear while mining (well, duh), but are gone as soon as the mining stops. Should I continue with this setup, or invest in a dedicated box?

ASICS are gradually introduced, so mining on GPU will soon become unprofitable...

I suggest investment in Pyramining (their ASICS will be introduced soon) or other reputable mining company...
