So this morning, I woke up to a new email from Skrill saying they refunded my purchase due to "high risk indications". I had deposited USD into my VirWox account, and exchanged that to BTC. Then I withdrew the bitcoin to my own wallet, and they said it could take up to 48 hours for new accounts. Is there a way I can confirm the payment with them or something? Has anyone else had this type of issue with them?

If your Skrill is fully verified and you live in Europe you can buy bitcoins directly with Skrill through Bitpanda. If you are in US you can buy through Coinbase via Paypal.

I wonder why people still continue to use VirWox considering their crazy high fees in conversion ?

I'm trying to avoid any ID verifications since I'm under 18. I do have documents that could prove my identity, but they'd reveal my actual age. I have found two ways to buy Bitcoin without verification (takes several days to actually get the BTC), but I'm seeking a way to get them instantly, if there is such a service.

We do have the Currency Exchange section in the forum. Have you checked it out? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0
Important:
1. Use escrow
2. Beware of impersonators.
3. ALWAYS check everything. ie trade history, reputation, trust feedback, etc.
4. It would be better to trade with trusted/reputable long time users.
5. Again, do your own due diligence.

ID verification is not required (which is what you want), but do be careful of scams. There are plenty.
If you have any doubts, then just go ahead with virwox.

Yup. On second thought, you should just go ahead with virwox.. They indeed charge very high fees, which if I recall correctly, could go as high as 20% but, they've been working for years now and plenty have used it in the past.
There are other cheaper options now but considering your age constraints, I can't really recommend anything else.
The 48 hours should be for your first couple of transactions only. Long as there's no issue with your skrill funds, Virwox will confirm. (I personally didn't have any problems with my transactions there in the past.)

I have had a recent, but small history of credit card fraud, so that's probably why they flagged mine as a "high risk" indicator. I've e-mailed VirWox about the issue, so hopefully they can get some sense and confirm the payment. Otherwise, do you have any other recommendations?

Frankly, I am hesitant to point you there as there plenty of scams, but, just use your common sense and you should be fine.
I'd recommend both   zazarb : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1092531.0 and shdvb ; https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583572.0 but I'm not sure if they're currently taking skrill. You could send them a PM.

Otherwise, take a look at these list of exchanges : https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.io/ you could check which ones does not require ID verification.

If nothing works, then I hope you get cleared at Virwox.  Wink Or someone else can suggest others.  Grin

Does Skrill require ID verification?

It's really difficult if not impossible to find a way to buy bitcoins with skrill without providing ID. Is visiting an actual bitcoin ATM possible for you? Sounds like it might be a good option for you given the fact you're underage. I've spent a great deal of time trying to find ways to buy bitcoin with skrill and the few places I found, all of them required ID verification.
