Whenever someone claims "Bitcoin is the digital currency of the future" I never argue about the future part, just the present.

That's a keen observation Grin  Well, there was never an emerging technology which didn't have its bumps.  Do you think Bitcoin 1.0 will come with super-advanced price-stability features?  That would be rad Tongue

Bitcoin will likely end up exactly like everything else is right now, with people trusting groups of people like centralized exchanges instead of individuals (safety in numbers) and organizations using social pressures to control everything. It's human nature.

Bitcoin doesn't change the world, people do, and education changes people. I don't doubt that Bitcoin is a very good tool for education, though I fear the ones receiving  the bulk of the education are the ones losing money in it.

Bitcoin will likely end up exactly like everything else is right now, with people trusting other people (MtGox instead of decentralized currencies) and organizations using social pressures to control everything. It's human nature.

Bitcoin doesn't change the world, education does. Bitcoin is a very good tool for education though, but I fear the only ones receiving an education are the ones losing money in it.

I couldn't agree more, actually.  I know for a fact I've learned more about markets, money, economy, and economics from just this one piece of software.  I haven't invested a lot in it and probably won't (since I'm broke anyhow) but just by being around Bitcoiners (if it wasn't a noun, it is now) I've learned tons.  What's going on now has been what's always been going on; will a change in people's thought change people's action?  Why, I'd say that's the only way change has ever happened Grin

We can't have that now, can we. Protip for trading/investing in the long term: Act quickly, decide slowly.
