After Gox reopens and everyone gets their orders in and the market restabilizes, what will be the stable price of BTC?

No. Idea. At all.  I can't wait to see just out of curiosity.

I don't see it dropping it below <$40 . But would not be surprised by any number in that poll.

I think the people who were gonna sell mostly sold already. And a lot of people will buy in if it falls to low. So ya: could be anywhere hehe.

You guys are too bearish.

1.  Price is holding around 60-70 on the open $ exchanges during the outage.
2.  btcchina is at 700 yuans or a bit over $110
3.  Anyone who wants to sell can.
4.  Those with fiat on Gox can't buy.

But, please sell.  I'll be buying.

my suspicion, lots of people are moving to other exchanges right now... first they moved their bitcoins and crashed the smaller markets... and soon their fiat will get in there.
Plus mtgox will return and the market will have another period of volatility as it finds its equilibrium amongst the rest of the markets.

It may take a week... or maybe even until the end of the month, but the price is going to hit 100-200+ again.

ZOMG Moo!

Show me evidence that they can't withdrawal.  I haven't had any BTC in my MtGox account for over a year so I can't try it, but I believe I read that withdrawals were being processed normally.

Gox sucks. This has been known for some while now, they've never effectively addressed any of the problems with lag. Just as last time there was a huge crash Mt Gox incompetence is right at the center of it. When Gox opens everyone should move all of their assets out and let this company fail, though of course this will not happen.

They are. I was able to withdraw to dwolla and buy some from campbx.

How long did it take, and what were the fees like?

I agree, although they were supposed to release the new trade engine on the 17th.  Hopefully they have put it through enough testing and are just cutting over now.  If it still lags when they open they will fall flat on their faces.

unless they got their btc out and onto the other exchanges, which there was plenty of time to do.

Not bad.  Those kinds of moves used to be much slower.  I haven't used dwolla in over a year either.  Anyway, dwolla is only an option for US persons.  Sure, that's a decent chunk of the market, but there is still a bottleneck for a lot of users.

He's talking about MtGox->Dwolla, so it's really Dwolla->Dwolla.

I've had orders in at the $50 range for the last few days, even when the price was $200+.  I expect those orders to be filled.

Some other exchanges have seen a price as low as $57 today.

In theory, there are two reasons to think the dust should settle around $100.

1. The small exchanges seem to be moving in this direction. It stands to reason they have seen a large influx of BTC as a result of the GOX outage, and comparatively smaller influx of fiat (transfer problems). If they represent a sample of the Gox population, then you would think they will have discovered a lower bound for price discovery (since BTC inflow> fiat inflow)

2. The downward trend was beginning to reverse at about ~$112 when Gox shut things down. There was heavy buying and still a large wall left untouched at $100-$110.
