Sorry for the delay. No update as of yet. There was a hold up with the breakout board. Courier lost it at a depot or something.

A sort of update is I think I've found the name of the fan connector. Its a 4pin micro JST connector. From what I've seen there are different types with different pin pitches so taken a guess on a pair (male and female bare ended) just to see if they match up. If they do I can cut and join to a regular 4 pin connector and see what happens.

I'm hoping the fan is temp controlled as it says something about temp on the pcb when I opened it up.

ive seen this on ebay,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-Bitmain-Antminer-S9-and-or-S7-IBM-2880W-PSU-Power-Supply-Kit-208V-Bitcoin-/252733697377?hash=item3ad81a2d61:g:AR0AAOSwLs5XK5A4
ive never used on and dont know if the guys is a member here, im half tempted though as id love to be able to run some 2880's at home

maybe somone on theese boards knows something about this setup

MarkAZ was making some acrylic replacement case covers that incorporated a PWM fan controller and mounting for a 120mm fan, they looked identical to that one.  That could be him, or they are getting it from him.  I did the same by cutting and modifying a case in the same way and it will keep up with cooling no problem.  On top of the significant noise savings, you save quite a bit of wasted wattage with a single 120mm fan for airflow instead of the 3x jet engines.

Thats exactly what im teying to find out. Im hoping iust a splice into a larger fan wiring will be enough. But just waiting on parts to be delivered before i can start.

with yours i would just cut the connector off the stock fan and wire it to the fan ur trying to install , then just plug it back into the stock location.that would take care of everything as then u wouldnt have to trick the psu into thinking the stock fan was still there

sp20's used what apears to be the same fan connector , i have a couple here if u want me to dig one out and take a picture , if its the same u could get a fan out of an sp20 and just plug it in without having to splice anything

Thanks for the pictures. Does look very similar.

Not sure there are an SP20's available cheaply enough for just a fan here in the UK.
