Sure... Why wouldn't it work?

IIRC, you need two nodes if you want to mine, but if you're not mining (so new blocks aren't added to the blockchain, transactions aren't added to blocks, no confirmations), i think you can even have 1 node, and your ALT would still exist.

bTW: i guess you'll need to move this topic to the altcoin subforum, since it's not really talking about BTC?

That's a good start to have your own cryptocurrency. Possibly in the same manner there are several users who have their own cryptocurrency that are still in use, but haven't gained much popularity.

I think there's no doubt your currency shall work but as said above it won't be added to the blockchain and then again this topic doesn't even belong here have it locked. Secondly you said many downloaded and used it what's the name of your currency you have not mentioned it here. I would suggest you to market your currency rather than running your own currency on just two computers.

Yes you can run but in long run when difficulty arises many members should start mining,if it is not happening means wallet will not be active. So it's better you if you want to start an altcoin firstly get the popularity.

Simple Answer = YES.

Detailed Answer,
As long as you have enough coins to keep the rated block speed of the coin , you can keep the chain running normally.
You will want to keep an equal distribution of those coins between the 2 computers, so they compete to stake which will keep your difficulty higher.
If your difficulty was too low like .00002 and someone else came online , they could overwrite your chain with theirs.

If you are designing your own coin and the total quantity of coins is low (less than a billion) ,
you want to have a very low minimum stake age like 1 hour and a longer blockspeed time of between 2 & 10 minutes.

Also if you want it to be used among the populace, you have to provide a Block Explorer and make sure it is on at least 1 exchange.
Also with only 2 PCs, you are very vulnerable to DDOS attacks from the internet.

The above is if you are trying to have a Public Blockchain.

If you only want a private chain not connected on the internet that no one else will use.
Then you don't have to worry about Exchanges, DDOS attacks, Public block explorers or history rewrite attacks.

You don't even need two computers, one will work just fine. Even a raspberry pi.

Mechanic's Manual

1) Since it is PoS, ensure you have enough separate transactions to stake and confirm blocks all the way up to min_stake_confirms (min_coin_age may delay you though )
2) Create two new folders for the coin, ie .xcoin and .xcoin2
3) Create config files in both directories, add the option listen=0 in one and ensure that they have different rpc ports
4) Put the following addnode=127.0.0.1 in both config files
5) If you already have the chain downloaded, copy the files into both folders and start the client else
6) Start two instances of client, one normally and the other with additional -datadir argument pointing to the second directory
7) Send a tip to 1Mechk2cVBFqwuxzWDnRzTErPTDxmxxKZS

You can buy/rent some virtual machines pretty cheap so you don't have to run your PC/laptop 0-24. plus some wallets are eating and getting  lot of resource from your CPU, so it can slow down your computer

You can use Poswallet an online coin staking service and your pc,but why you will want your coin to go like that you need to build community around it and support so people will help you staking your coin wallet, you cannot go on like this forever..

Running a new cryptocurrency on just two computers is exactly how many coins start. It's called a premine and you can find examples of successful premines mentioned all over this forum.

You don't even need two computers. You can just use one if you want with different ports to run multiple wallets
