Moonlight - Best Picture    6.850   Anyone picked Moonlight? The result is very unexpected, most people bet on La La Land, and they lost huge amount of money.

I did pick Moonlight to be the best picture ,check my prediction earlier  ,i thought the lobby would vote for La La Land and even announced it as the winner   and i did not wage a single bet for La La Land for the best picture but i had my money on Moonlight as it was a good movie and it was supposed to win the award at least for the screen play. My Oscar bets are 100 percent accurate and the only problem was that the special events cannot be parlayed .

@OneHash. That is a good price offer. In Nitrogen it is only +2100. I am more excited about the Oscars than betting on sports. This is my first time gambling in it. I know most of you do not like to waste bitcoins on it. But if you decide you want to have some fun with it there is still 15 minutes to go before the event starts. I just did bet for La la land as its seems that most of the favor will be get by this film the quality of the story line will state itself and with the way Oscars chooses the winners la la land will surely get some favor, but until the final announcement is not than yet there still many things that can happen lets see which film will take it from there.

That is a very useless bet. The last time I saw the odds for Lala Land at was at -900 or something close to that. You will win almost nothing. The risk is too high.

It would be better for you to bet on the underdogs as we have seen after the Oscars, Moonlight won as best picture.

After the event is over and we know the outcome of the game we are always wise and eager to make claims that this bet was *obvious*.
But would you really bet on underdog against La La Land? It is similar situation to what we seen during US presidential elections.
I liked Trump more but still refused to believe he had a chance - and in the end he won...

For now I am glad I forgot to bet on Oscars, because I would lost my money - La La Land was my pick too...

They hype La la Land so much that's why bettors think it is an easy money, I don't know if there is a monopoly that happens but base on my observation when a certain bet is a heavy favorites, it would not usually win. This does not apply in Oscars alone as the same scenario happened many times in sports and in politics. Maybe we should have to bet against the public all the time and stop analyzing bets.

I doubt they manipulate the results because of the bets, because the market is insignificant compared to sport betting and there are bigger interests than money

its really an expected that la la land lose but there's always a reason behind and we know that aside from many categories there's also
some impact with betting with the public so they gave small odd for la la land, for the public to feel that there's some edge for this film
just like with the presidency providing small odd for clinton and the results went for trump.

La La Land was my bet for the Oscars this year. However, I didn't got the chance to
actually put a bet on it. I also don't know what what could have been my reaction
for hearing La La Land the winner then later on it was called a mistake because the
envelope was wrong (ala Miss Universe). I think PWC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) the
auditor firm which handles this years Oscars winners (tabulating, and preparing the
envelopes) already apologizes for the mistake but I guess the damage has been
done already.

Yes you are right if you don't know the event better don't bet on that event based on experts suggestions. The expert suggestions are not always right, I had experience in US election the odds also favour to Hillary, and I am not belonged to the US. The media are also supporting her. So I thought she must win, but the result gave me a big shock. Trump won the election, and i lost my bet. So here also same but it is very tough to predict the right choice in this type of events.

President Trump was laughing at their mess and came up with a quote of his own as they were focusing on politics rather than acting and so was the mess up .  Moonlight was a very good movie and this is the first mess up i have seen in Oscar history and the second humiliating thing after the miss universe mess up. One of the most epic mix-up in the history of the Academy Awards. I read somewhere that one of the factors for the mix-up is the faulty design of the envelope  Because this is the first time they choose someone to make a design other than Marc something something which has been designing the enveloped since 2011. So blame it on the envelope..

Of course I will not bet against Lala Land, well the truth is I did but that is not the point. Most of the time no one would be against the huge favorite but is there really value in betting for Lala Land? There was none because your winnings will be so low unless you bet really big but that also increases your risk. It is better not to bet.
