Seems to me that it doesn't matter that much.

I know anonymity is important to some people but this brings a lot of bad publicity to Bitcoin with the darknet and illegal activities, with things like Silk Road, and this won't necessarily be great for OpenBazaar.

Then again maybe publicity doesn't matter too much, since Bitcoin is a fairly anonymous service in itself.

these are two sides of the same thing.
on one side there is adoption and we need good publicity in general so that people stop listening to the FUD and start seeing bitcoin for how good it really is.
but on the other side, there is no stopping illegal activity such as silkroad incident and all other darknet things.

i say as long as there is more power in the good side, meaning some legit big companies accepting bitcoin, the negative side doesn't matter. the same way fiat is used for illegal activities.

I think it is good to see openbazaar collaborate with TOR, I am happy to see Openbazzar really care with bitcoin concept which is anonymity, hopefully this bring more customer and user, but the one that Openbazaar need is the advertisement and more people transaction using bitcoin from Openbazaar

Long back itself open bazaar has been used with the help of VPN services. Hopefully the collabarative use of Open Bazaar along with TOR makes it more ease for all sort of necessities. Hopefully the bitcoin usage in Open Bazaar doesn't require any advertisement or promotion. It gets spread easily through people using it, because lot are expecting to have a highly anonymous transaction but doesn't have any idea.
