Hi Lads.

Currently I am into LTC mining and Yes. I know that this is a Bitcoin forum,

but as the wind blows the Alternate Cryptocurrencies thread is happened to become as busy as ever.

Going through the threads, I just realised that we have everything dumped in to here. Some asking about Mining hardware, some asking about namecoin prices. etc...

Please vote to show to the moderators that we would like sections like Mining, Trading, and all the major sub-threads. to make our bunch more organised.

At least a subboard for every "major" alt coin would be something.

That would allow me to put the ridiculous copies on my ignore, by still watching those with interesting concepts.

All previous versions of currency will no longer be supported as of this update

I voted 'yes', but why should bitcoin support alternative currencies? If alt coins only value is riding the coat tails of bitcoin, maybe it isn't such a great alt coin.

I think there should be:

- A give-away subforum for all the '1 free coin' topics. This will reduce forum clutter.
- A subforum for newly launched coins. Once the coin passes 4 weeks old it can then be posted about in the main alt crypto forum. This will make it easier to keep track of new coins and again, reduce clutter.
- A subforum for Litecoin, since it's bigger than all the other alternate cryptocurrencies combined in terms of market capitalisation

I believe it should, just as the Bitcoin has one, I believe as Litecoin is the next biggest crypto currency, Alternative currency should have a litecoin

Code:
Mining

Child Boards: Mining support, Pools, Mining software (miners), Hardware, Mining speculation

It would cleanup the alternative currency section a lot.

Because this is a forum, and you would want to take all the pageviews/visits that you can get. Even from alternate cryptocurrencies so you can sell your advertising space more.

On the same note you could also argue of why there is an off topic thread...
This if a bitcoin forum, Wether we like it or not BTC goes hand in hand with LTC and the rest. So why not make it tidy?

This is mainly a bitcoin forum. Doesn't litecoin have its own forum? I'm fine with all the alt currencies being here.

If the sub-forum idea gets adopted, I'd like to propose creating a [Stable Value Coins] discussion forum. No stable value coin currently exists but many of us are kicking around ideas of how this might be possible to achieve.

In exchange for this new forum, we agree to let everyone else transfer all the annoying NEW threads that begin with,

"Bitcoin will fail because...
1) The initial distribution of bitcoins was unfair...
2) Early adopters are the new landed gentry...
3) A fixed number of bitcoins leads to over speculation...
4) Speculators are "greedy" and/or late adopters are "jealous""

to our new sub-forum. See, It's a win/win!

I think at least LTC is big enough to have it's own sub-forum.
And mainly because the mining setup is a little bit different than BTC.

It was only a suggestion.
