I have gone through the install procedure given in the mining forum. Confirmed that ~/.bitcoin/bitcoin.conf contains
Code:
rpcuser=un
rpcpassword=pw
When I run
Code:
python poclbm.py -d 0 --user un --pass pw
I get the error message wrong username or password. I have tried changing the un and pass in the file and the command line with the same results.

I am obviously doing something stupid, could someone give me nudge in the right direction.

not sure what the problem was, probably brain fade, but I shut everything down and restarted and it seems to work OK.

Is there a way to change the first post title to show it is solved?Edit - found the edit button for first post so is now marked solved.

python poclbm.py --d 0 --host=[pool's address] --user=un --pass=pw

For 58xx add at the end [-v -w 128] w/o square brackets
