I've been waiting 24 hours for an inbound transaction, is this common? Or at least not weird?

I've never had to wait this long. The transaction is less than BTC0.05.

Thanks.
Not really unless the fees are sufficient.

Try this https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
It have helped me before to get confirmation within few hour, it actually works just like the way they claim. Can you post your transaction details?
Yeah that is one way people are using to get faster confirmations and to those who don't know they are another mining service and they just use the transactions people submit when they mine bitcoins and hence confirmation happen for you once they mine a block. While I am not a fan of this service since this is unfair to the others who paid high fees and yet are unconfirmed but anyways its helping people.
I don't think it's unfair because viabtc doesn't really mine most of the block every day and they only accept a couple of hundred of tx.

This is very common nowadays. You should at least increase your fee so that it will be confirmed faster. It's very frustrating to wait for your bitcoin transfer to be confirmed but it is a norm right now. I stumbled upon this website: https://www.viabtc.com/contract/ wherein they are saying that you can increase the confirmation time of your transaction when you enter your TX ID there. I don't know if it works but many people are vouching for it. You can try that if you have the time.

The same thing happened to me last Tuesday but it finally confirmed after 26 hours. It's terrible lately but let's hope there's a change in the coming days especially after the approval of segwit.

The memory pool turns out to be more and more full these days.
I assume that transactions with the highest fees are put in the blocks first.
So transactions with lower fees will take longer and longer in the future.
That is something we are not used to (yet).
If this trend continues, it will soon become a real problem for bitcoin.
Yeah, the high fees for the transactions and the slow confirmation time is starting to become a really big issue, I know that the user base of the bitcoin is increasing and the more people are joining the community means that they have more transactions to deal with, but this is becoming a really big problem for a long time, because I am starting to think that miners are just taking advantage of this situation.

It means they have a limited amount of slots per found block, that they can offer anyone who is using their service. I've had the same thing the past couple of days but this morning finally got two transactions that 'succeeded'.

Now I wait.
