I'm new to litecoin/bitcoin... So if this is noob question please forgive me.

I'm getting the following message when I try litecoin GPU mining with cgminer 2.11.4.

"No suitable long-poll found for http://127.0.0.1:9332"
At which point I get a popup indicating that cgminer.exe has stopped working and I have to close the program.

The command generating the error is as follows:

"G:\Program Files (x86)\cgminer-2.11.4-windows\cgminer" --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:9332 -u user -p password --thread-concurrency 5632 -I 10 -g 1 -w 256

litecoin.conf file has the following info:
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=9332
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0

block_nTime=1317972665
block_nNonce=2084524493

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
GPU: 4870X2

Do I have to start the litecoin wallet in a certain way to be able to GPU mine or are one of my switches set incorrectly?

Note, CPU mining seems to work... I am getting a hash count on each of my 4 CPU cores (~5 khash/s per core)

i'm not an expert in that field, but i "heard" that you need to have the litecoin wallet client open, when you solo mine.

but i would recommend joining a mining pool anyways Wink
