Below  is the news from our BCT Administrator.

Quote
There is some chance that BIP148 will result in an economic split of the Bitcoin currency at midnight UTC on Aug 1. If this split is non-negligible, then action may be required by all Bitcoin users. Personally, I consider it most likely that the split will be negligible and that you won't have to do anything, but it's still a good idea to prepare just in case.

A very short summary of what you need to do:

1. Ensure that you have no BTC deposited with a Bitcoin bank or other trusted third-party before Aug 1. If there's no technical way for you to export the private keys for your BTC, then that BTC is at risk. Some Bitcoin banks may assure you that they'll definitely keep your BTC safe, but I absolutely wouldn't trust them.
2. Do not send transactions or trust received transactions starting 12 hours before Aug 1 at midnight UTC, and continue this until you hear the "all clear" from several trustworthy sources. For example, I will post a forum news item if everything is OK, or if everything is not OK and action is required.

See my guide here for more a lot more detail: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2012799.0

OK wallets

The following wallets give you some theoretical way of exporting your private keys, so they should be safe to hold BTC during Aug 1. Depending on what happens after Aug 1, you may have to export your private keys and use different software, though. (Do not go doing this willy-nilly in a panic, though -- wait for agreement and clear instructions from several sources. There will be no rush.)

The ones in bold are ones that I also tend to like for other reasons. The ones in italic seem to make it difficult to export your private keys, or at least that's what i heard but i never tried.

I wanted to support Bitcoin core, don't know why and how did others came up with this "unlimited" concepts. I really don't wish this split to happen, also i really don't like the name "Unlimited" from my past experiences.. who ever wanted to store your Bitcoins on local Bitcoin core wallet can use my wallet. I am running core wallet on my personal computer from a very long time and i backup the encrypted wallet from time to time and store on cold, cloud storages., i will charge 1% storage fee + transaction Fee and my service is open until everything is OK.

I am not here to steal anyone's BTC , i would like to help those who couldn't run local wallet at this type of situation also to help those who don't know where and how to store.

PM me if need service.

I really don't think you're known nearly enough to be asking for everyone to give you money. There's no guarantee that you'll return anything at all, so it's a high-risk, low-reward situation. Better to just have people put their coins in a local wallet that will support the split and leave it at that.

Yes, that is what i explained and shared the whole news . but not everyone can run Bitcoin local wallet , even if it's for 0.1 BTC.

btw, Bitcoin Core wallet supports split doesn't it ?

Technically, it does. It won't support it natively I'm sure (as there's still the civil war going on), but it does mean you have the private key so you have access via that (imported to another client or whatever you wish to do).

Thanks for saying that, been hearing this from other Legendary people too and it feels good to hear the word "safe" as i was concerned about Bitcoin/Core future from the time this split plan conferences. If the core team is not so good , people could have lost faith in Bitcoin.

The thing to understand is Core gives the private key and assuming your system isn't compromised, only you will ever have access to it.

Any chain forks would be from point x on the blockchain, so you could import your private key to every new chain from that point and access the coins. The important thing isn't the client, but rather the access to the private key itself, Smiley.

I backup my wallet.dat (encrypted) and i believe i can use it with other/new client ( core update if any) after split (if happens). Am i planning correctly?

Why would anyone even deposit a single satoshi with you? Who are you? Can you be trusted? I don't think so.

You are asking people to trust you with their bitcoins just because you write it down on a spreadsheet? Totally trust worthy, here take all my bitcoins...

Well we cannot trust you for just seeing this kind of service since their are several wallets where we can trust to hold our balance on theirs electrum and other wallets who have private keys as suggested and why on earth we would trust for unknown site? I'm not against on your business but you need to prove your trust score here like what other wallet providers to since their are so many scam on this furom and where vigilant on new one like this.

I totally understand. Well i just wanted to share my wallet space with others who couldn't run Core wallet. If no one trust or don't need my service, it's totally their choice. I also suggest to run Core wallet on their personal computer to store their bitcoins (encrypt and backup) until the war get's to an end.

Yeah no one needs it. And if anyone needs this kind of service for sure they won't come to you. Instead of offering this shady service, why not just teach people how to do it themselves. It's actually not hard. People just have to store their bitcoins in an address which they have control over its private key.

Oh from that argument, if we store coins with you then that would mean we don't have control over our private keys. Shocker...

why not, but the fact is everyone know how to use core wallet but downloading the Bitcoin bootstrap which is around 100GB+ i guess on their computer is not really possible for every individual..

From your OP, you already highlighted Electrum. Which by the way does not even need to download the whole blockchain. So what's the incentive now of depositing to your vault?

Again, what guarantees that you will not run away with the coins? Or, you give back the bitcoins and keep the other coin, in case of a hard fork? What, the spreadsheet again?

Take your vault and shove it up your arse mate, you actually expect people to give their coins to you? only fools

Would do that, there is no where safer than private keys, you will be keeping your coins in the same place.

%1 fee like we're idiots to not only trust our Bitcoins with you but also give you a fee, people find opportunities
