Given, we have about 1k alts now and only a few with significant trading vol ( agreed this is fishy, but vols < 1Mio$ per day is crap)

How is the distribution, still very central?

Given, that we have Turing Complete Alts = TCA that should be able to mimic all we might need? Could we replace all alts with these TCAs?

Or do we just need to be scammed more and more and every day like in shiny Casino industry?

Pump & Dump!

No one forced you to invest in scam projects, remember what the bitcointalk staff and most expereienced and wise users say "Never invest what you can't afford to loose"

We (users like me, who knows what are ICOs) are always warning people not to invest in ICOs, i also warn people not to focus on financial matters only, it is not a roulette, it is a project.

If you don't want to be scammed, then just don't invest in shaddy projects, ask questions and bother them as much as you want untill they are revealed, if not, then you can safely invest.

P&D isn't caused by coin owners, most of the time it is done by some kids with a minimal amount of bitcoins, some times it is the exchanges who do this, just to get more volume. This is the fault of the altcoin "hippies", open a serious thread about the code quality of altcoins (like i did) and count the amount of responses, then open a thread about the price of a coin and you will see the difference. All of this is due to the ignorance of the crowd who keeps crying when they are scamed, while not listening when they warned about ICOs.

I think the altCOIN market is saturated at the moment

but I stress AT THE MOMENT. I think the act that Japan has
recognised BITCOIN as legal tender will only heighten interest
in Bitcoin and in turn Altcoins.

Now if we turn our attention to "the Blockchain" I think the surface
has only been scratched to date! It has soooooo much potential
and not for "coins" so we can be scammed more and more as you say
but for smart contracts!

We already see FIAT banking, Cloud Storage, Social media file sharing
and coins [there is probably more which im not aware of!]

Could we see e-mail moving to the blockchain?

I know absolutely nothing about Turing-completeness, but I can tell you with 98% certainty that the altcoin market is saturated.  Completely saturated.  There isn't enough money or enough interest to support so many altcoins for much longer.  We're already seeing an inverse correlation with bitcoin and the rest of the cryptos such that when bitcoin is booming, altcoins are tanking.  That indicates to me that there's a limited amount of money involved and it's either in bitcoin or in the alts.  Most of the alts have probably one year or less to live.  That's my prognosis.

I think the market is already saturated by altcoins. Almost all the needed option had been offered by different altcoins and others are just repeating  the project of other altcoin that came before them.  I can only see them as Pump and Dump, no innovation, no new techs.  There maybe some that is innovative or offer a minor innovation but mostly are just to grab money.

features are an excuse to entice saps to hang pumps and dumps on. very, very few people care about the features of a coin. most of them don't know or care what they bought as long as there's money to be made.

hmm interesting, and this is partly to do with more and more coins being launched
in the past and so the vicious circle is created of moving funds from one currency
to another in line with pump and dump activity...

yep. that's not to say there aren't coins out there with great and useful features, but they're drowned in the desire to make money. that's the only thing ruling this and anyone who thinks otherwise has fallen off the turnip truck.

There are lots of features that would be useful in an altcoin which have not been achieved yet, including:
(1)  Price stability;
(2)  Method for garnishment/attachment through legal process;
(3)  Ability to associate name/identifying information so that coin serves more like a bank account and can better interface with existing banking systems.
