In case anyone missed it, this post in in reference to the PR nightmare caused by UA the other day

Backstory:
The airline overbooked the flight, and then wanted to move 4 employees to another airport on the plane... so they decided to kick off 4 paying passengers...

Nobody volunteered, so they picked 4 people to kick off the plane...

One of those men was a doctor who said, "I have obligations to my patients in the morning, I have to be at the hospital to do surgery... my Hippocratic Oath will not allow me to take another flight"

United Airlines did not care, and called the police to forcefully remove the paying passenger/doctor

Video of doctor being dragged out of seat
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAeQXPt-n8g

A few minutes later... he runs back on the plane saying, "Just kill me, Just kill me, Just kill me..."

And this is on the heels of the other PR nightmare they had recently, stopping those two little girls from flying because they were wearing leggings, and travelling on buddy passes. They are going the way of Uber, as far as public relations is concerned. But this particular case is concerning because of the use of force. This guy had just as much right to.fly as everyone else, and, would.you really inconvenience a passenger to accommodate an employee?

Also, didn't have to face check this guy into a face rest, in front of his lady.

And what sickens me about the whole is the airline CEO justifying the actions of the officers an then lying to everyone, I think the man should sue, He is sure to get a lot of money for assault and humiliation. He should bring the company to its knees.

The airline CEO can't apologize, or take any sort of blame, or he'll instantly lose any lawsuit

That's the unfortunate reality... unless he's willing to hand the guy millions right now, he can't admit his guys fucked up, even if he believes it

United Airlines Announcement: In addition to First and Premier seating classes, we'll not be offering Fight Club!

Southwest Airlines new motto: We beat the competition. Not you.

United motto: Fly the unfriendly skies!

When I learned I was like ''wtf?'' But the most tragic and sad thing is that nobody didn't lodge a complaint to the airline and nobody anything about this guy Sad That's the way will start going to happened from now on. Sad

Anybody read about this Doctor's personal history?

Some information about the victim: http://heavy.com/news/2017/04/david-dao-united-doctor-airlines-louisville-kentucky-passenger-removed-video-photos/

The most outrageous is apparently he trafficked drugs for sex.

And needs to be treated just like anyone else.

That's a really good point. Thanks for calling me out. I agree, I agree. It certainly should not impact the shit this guy has done and/or been through related to the United flight.

To be honest if this happened to anyone else nobody would have cared. If it was some white guy everyone wouldn't have cared.

Airlines always overbook to ensure that their operation can be at 100% capacity, and apparently they use a ton of models to calculate what is a safe level of overbooking and what is not.

But obviously, no model is perfect, which is why this happens.

Airlines should really stop this practice so that nobody gets kicked off. It'll cost you way less to do that than to have to deal with PR problems like this, lol.

I like the "you board as a doctor, leave as a patient". That made my day Grin

I don't think race has much to do with it... granted, I wouldn't care as much if it was some punk 20 year old kid acting up, but it wasn't

People care because it was a doctor... and he was nearly 70 years old... you just don't throw around an old man like that

You certainly shouldn't treat a 70 year old doctor like that... he's spent 10 years in school so he could spend 40 years trying to help sick/wounded people

According to the Geneva Convention, knowingly firing at a medic is a war crime

You just don't fuck with doctors
