Its a legitimate philosophical argument, not a freakin pump n dum convo that happens thousands of times a day there. Yet they admittedly actively filter words like "BU" and "SegWit" because they don't want people discussing it for some reason. My suspicion is SegWit could somehow disrupt their profits. I admit I am pro-Segwit but only from the stance that it will help re-unify the community to a degree... for a while. I was simply pointing out that Segwit supporting nodes surpassed BU supporting nodes just in the last week, which pretty much spells the end of Unlimited.

Any thoughts?

TROLLBOX - 4/11/17

Monkeychanger: alexanderthegreat, LTC is coming close (to activating SegWit)

alexanderthegreat: Monkeychanger, but noone ever did it before? i though viacoin or something?

Monkeychanger: I dont know much about that one

Monkeychanger: All I know is, Unlimited is done

Xoblort: Please, let's try and keep the language to english in the trollbox. Thank you for your understanding.

KingPrawn: Uhhh.. does segwit activation improve any coin not named BTC?

Monkeychanger: KingPrawn, yes its almost LTC

billygoat: VTC segwit hype is over now it looks like its DGB's turn

KingPrawn: Monkeychanger, LTC already fast.

janalynaltamiramanggas: why did unlimited fail when it came so close? just a game, the miners don't want any scaling?

Monkeychanger: LTC could seriously compete with BTC if SegWit goes full throttle

KingPrawn: Monkeychanger, LOL

alexanderthegreat: can someone tell me if any coin has segwitted in the past or DGB will be the first?

Rakim: Monkeychanger, segwit won't happen

jeayp23: Monkeychanger, how do u know that

wbe4ever: Monkeychanger, that is a dream imo

positivezero: I think Sia or Sys got segwit

KingPrawn: Rakim, Even if it does, lucky to spike to 13.50

Banhammer: freejeera, Monkeychanger, and positivezero banned for 1 hours and 0 minutes by Xoblort.

Xoblort: Refrain from posting SEGWIT SPAM please, Thank you all. We do not need an update every minute

KingPrawn: Xoblort, Can i complain about people talking about swgwit? or is that more spam...?

polo is banhammering any topic, please move on. I think the only on-topic topic are technical issues about polo or how to use polo.

Just kinda zaps the "fun" out of the trollbox. I enjoy genuine, intellectually-stimulating debates rather than a diahrrea flood of pump posts.

Regulation might ban troll boxes. Full of people shouting pump this coin, dump that coin! Many big name market makers in the financial sector got multi-million dollar fines for such collusion.

Scaling and transaction rate: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=532.msg6306#msg6306
Do not allow demand to exceed capacity. Do not allow mempools to forget transactions. Relay all transactions. Eventually confirm all transactions.

the concept of trollbox is a stupid one to begin with. it can only be good if you have some kind of question and need a chat to get your answers quickly instead of waiting for the support to answer you.
anything else is pointless to be done in an exchange trollbox!
do it on a forum or join skype with that other person to have censorship arguments if you that is what you are looking for. and then argue until your fingers bleed Cheesy

It's wise decision to ban people who talk about BU/SegWit since most of them usually talk without proof, sharing FUD or scam that could lead to negative things.
Also, i bet people will talk about censoring in bitcointalk.org, btc.com, /r/bitcoin or /r/btc soon Roll Eyes
What does proof have to do with anything?
Everyone who talks about SegWit or BU has literally no idea about the other side and will try to find any article or tweet to justify their views. It's not just limited to Poloniex's trollbox.
And yeah, there are quite a few threads here and in the subreddits about censorship. /r/btc does not censor though, however you will most likely get downvoted for your SegWit views as almost everyone is a BU shill there.

Not everyone wants to talk politics everywhere they go.

I suspect they want their chatbot to have a more friendly non-political discussion.
