So I got my cool 7970 in today. Already having problems with it such as artifacts in firefox and cool stuff. Honestly I was ready to throw this $450 dollar POS out the window as soon as that happened.

Anyway now NONE of my miners open, I just don't understand. Both GUI Miners for bit and lite open in my notification area then disappear. Then never show up on the task bar. If I open the task manager I can see it open and close in the background apps. As soon as I open CG miner it closes.

I am using windows 8 and I never have ANY problems with my 6850 setup. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be causing the miners to not open?

Do you have the APP SDK installed? If not install it from here: http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-sdks/heterogeneous-computing/amd-accelerated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/

Reinstall your Catalyst software and do a full install.
