Network question about bitcoin client (upnp disabled)

Hi,
I don’t use upnp in my router so I  have deselected this option in the bitcoin client (I use Satoshi).

My client don't have the option to set a port in order to let him to listen for incoming connection.

My question is: the client need to are reachable from the internet?
