I've a few S7 antminer.  They used to work fine but one of them stopped working.

I went through the configuration and noticed that the URL address for the pool (i used: stratum+tcp://stratum.f2pool.com:3333) was blank.  Shocked

I inserted but could NOT 'Save and Apply'.  It just becomes blank again.  My previous typing goes blank...

I changed the PSU (providing 2.4kw - i know, overkill), but does not work. Shocked
I checked the fans, both are still working fine.  Undecided

This simple issue of 'save and apply' the URL just does not work....driving me bonkers.... hope anyone out there can assist....

Are you filling out the rest of your information? Like the name of the worker?
You can't simply indicate a link to the pool, the miner would have no way of nothing who it's working for.

thanks for the reminder.

yes, i had filled out the rest of the information; URL, Worker name and Password.

Somehow, it could NOT 'Save&Apply'.  i pressed it numerous times but just does not save.  Reverts to all blanks.....talking to a wall experience....

Are you filling in all three pools info? I recall reading once somewhere that it can be finicky like that depending on firmware/software version you're running.
Edit - and you're not typing in "stratum+tcp://" are you? If you are ditch that and it'll take it.

I don't believe in superstition because it's bad luck: 13thF1oor6CAwyzyxXPNnRvu3nhhYeqZdc
These aren't the Droids you're looking for: S5 & S7 (Sold), R4B2, R4B4 (RIP), 2x S9 obsolete, 2xS15-28, S17-56, S17-70

in my other 3 S7, i had typed in "stratum+tcp://stratum.f2pool.com:3333" and it worked fine.

in the S7 (which is not working), with or without "stratum+tcp://", it CANNOT Embarrassed be saved.  Quite frustrating.

The issue is that the 'Save&Apply' does NOT work.

Perhaps a software upgrade might solve the issue but i've heard of cases where it becomes a brick after that....so its a scary step to take....

Really appreciate your thoughts and input...but still looking for the right solution.

Try restarting the S7 and its controller.

If that does not work, try reinstalling that particular S7's firmware. You can find the firmware here: https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720160511022802617GoPmQhNb06CF

If that still does not work, best to reach out to Bitmain's support. (Good luck with getting a prompt and thorough response Tongue)

You're welcome, billybit. We all gotta start somewhere Smiley.

I'm as clueless as you when it comes to deciding which firmware is the right one for your S7 Sad; I use Canaan's AvalonMiner 741 and have no experience with Bitmain's AntMiners. Hopefully someone with proficiency in dealing with AntMiners might be able to help you out with that.

Nevertheless, Bitmain does have a user guide for the S7 here: https://shop.bitmain.com/files/download/Antminer%20S7%20user%20guide.pdf. Perhaps it might be a good idea to first check what is your S7's current firmware version (section 7.3, page 11 of the user guide), and try installing the most similar firmware you can find on Bitmain's S7 firmware page.

What I'd do is to try resetting the S7 (section 7.4, page 11 of the user guide) first, before attempting any reinstallation of firmware. Best to reach out to Bitmain support if resetting the S7 doesn't work, as you might open up a can of worms (e.g. bricking the S7) if the firmware reinstallation goes wrong.

That controller could be suffering from some memory corruption. If it is loading the file system read only because it is detecting irregularities it will not allow you to save the files. You can ssh into the affected system and see whats going on that way.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.
