Florida lawmakers are considering new legislation that aims to stop virtual currency dealers who participate in money laundering. The bill, sponsored by Miami-Dade Representative Jose Felix Diaz, has passed through the state’s House Appropriations Committee.

“The high-tech criminals of the 21st Century use virtual currencies like bitcoin to accumulate and hide the profits of their illegal activities,” explained Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. "This legislation makes sure that traffickers and fraudsters can no longer try to use internet-based currencies to hide and move their ill-gotten gains."

Well, damn good luck with that, I guess bitmixer is gonna go out of business in no time, but wait for it, not gonna happen, I'm not condoning criminal activities but the technology simply doesn't allow you to stop them, you can't find any evidence of any transactions once you send your coins to a high volume mixer it's like you donated your coins.
Illegal or legal when you mix your bitcoins there is no possible way or method to keep track of those coins, I'd like to know US senators's opinion and take on this matter, or maybe they like to make fool out of themselves.

poor mixers and their owners Sad
if this is going to be a legal precendent in the US it could have very bad implications
for bitcoins and cryptocurrencies like XMR ETH and any that are anonymous
kinda falls in line with the recent crackdown on the intermediary banks that service exchanges

The real problem is that lawmakers are creating laws to address a non-existent problem.
