Hi!

I'm having a bit of issue with one of my S9 (center hash board) which is not hashing normally and whenever I did a soft reboot or a restart, It will hash initially but to stop again after around 1-3hours, I don't see any error on the boards but noticed that the chip temperature is a lot higher than the rest of my S9, I'm getting 90-100 degrees on the problematic unit whereas the others are doing 72-83 degrees. I even opened up the tube to look for foreign objects or loose heatsink but none is detected. Any advise or suggestions?

Thanks in advance..

few options odds are it could be just a hot board (has a few defects that make it run hotter) id imagine its running into the temperature cut off and killing power to the board so it cant mine, advice would be ramp up the fans to max and see if the temps still go way up, keep an eye on it for a few hours and see how it goes. if the temps stabilize it could just be that the fans need setting to manual and you need to pay more attention to it instead of leaving it to its own devices.

if the temps still shoot up then were into bigger issues which could be anything from a dodge sensor to very bad thermal compound to a dieing board

if doing the fan thing doesnt work or it still cuts off then next step would be to mine and reach in and carefully touch the heat sink (use caution and common knowledge it maybe painful) if there cold to the touch youve got a bad sensor if your now screaming in pain and running to the nearest sink youve got a bad board/power issue you should also get a good breeze all over your hand while the fans are blowing if you dont then somethings stopping the airflow
