has anyone thought of creating a coin that follows milton friedman's train of thought when it comes to monetary policy? his idea was to have a computer increase the money supply by 3% each year forever. some people would probably prefer this kind of policy on the creation of money rather than capping the total number of coins at a certain amount. just wanted to know if this has been discussed here. thanks.

I'm very sure you didn't read Milton Friedman ideas  Angry
Then you will find that the coin mining should be privatized and centralized.

The worst enemy of Bitcoin is Mt.Gox exchange.

i agree. he was not an advocate of competing currencies. i'm really just talking about his automatic 3% per year idea here.

I have thought about it.   Not sure it makes as much sense with competing currencies as it does in the environment he pictured it in.  I do think a chain should not stop completely generation new coins, so it at least has some replacement of lost coins though.
