Bitcoinira.com now has an Ethereum Individual Retirement Account investment product. This is good news to ETH holders but my question is it good for Bitcoinira? Ethereum is a very experimental platform that is not yet proven to last more than 10 years. The platform has many succesful ICO but we have witnessed in the past that ICO start ups die or become scams. A litecoin IRA might be better.

BitcoinIRA.com

BitcoinIRA.com operates from the Los Angeles (CA) neighborhood of Sherman Oaks. The company started operations in 2012. In now employs a staff of 15 and began selling Bitcoin in June of last year. Investors bought around $10 million worth of BTC. Average investment is recorded at $45, 000. BitcoinIRA.com services clients whose accounts range from below $10, 000 and these have rolled over to $400, 000. COO Kline added ETH due to requests from numerous clients. Besides, multiple products provide the hedge against possible risks to its assets.

The company is very excited with the outcome. Accounts are not simply limited to digital currencies. Their clients can adapt to USD, BTC, ETH, gold, silver and different precious metals. Likewise, options in crowd-funding and real estate are being worked out. Buyers are looking for options from USD-based assets which pose real threats to currencies.

Hate to be a party pooper here, but you'd have to be either way too rich or out of your mind to put ETH in your retirement account.  This is the cryptocurrency version of putting a Lotto ticket in an IRA.  Way too much risk.

yes youre a pooper but true. its better to just keep your eth on your wallet instead. i have some erh myself but i would never put it somewhere else. it be better to just invest it to some tokens though because thats where an investor should put it for his retirement. but will a trader really retire?

Simply being accepted for that is a huge success. For example, bitcoin currently sits at 21bil cap because some places accept it as money. Being generally accepted is very positive.
Unfortunately for bitcoin, more and more businesses stop using / accepting it. And the newcomers, especially those in japan that aren't yet aware of bitcoin problems will soon be faced with a harsh reality. Bitcoin can't be used as money even if they accept it in stores. Too much hassle, high fees, high wait time.

this is mostly an advertisement for Ethereum, because nobody in his right mind would choose that option as their retirement plan. even with bitcoin which we have been seeing a good rise and a very good adoption, and also the fact that it is the biggest cryptocurrency and the only cryptocurrency out there, it is not such a good idea to invest in it as your retirement plan.

and you raised a very good question. "is it good for Bitcoinira?" with all the manipulations, all the scam ICOs and all the shady things ethereum is involved in and with the highly manipulated and highly volatile price there will be so many pissed off retirees in a couple of years if they choose eth as an option!

Yes, we don't how the future of ETH will be because there are many experts who are challenging that the price ETH will increase more.
Yes, daily there are many coins being launched on basis Ethereum token, but many of them became a scam and many of them still running in the market.
