Yes, I am a total newbie and just trying to figure out how to buy Bitcoin.

I can buy it through Coinbase, but I am not sure about linking my bank account up with coinbase. They seem legit, but not sure I like that risk.
I have Paypal, but based on comments here, the only way to do that is with EBay. The going price on EBay is about double the market rate.
I can use a credit card (which is what I prefer), but where do I buy the coing with a credit card?

My ultimate goal is to invest at CEX.io and the only to invest using a BTC.

I did read the Wiki, but got confused with it.

Thanks

Buy with coinbase. You saying you don't know what you're doing is instantly asking to getting scammed. Coinbase is safe, takes some time but is worth it.

Personally, my advice would be to look at localbitcoins.com and buy from someone face to face in your local area. It's much faster and in general safer for legitimate buyers. PP is generally frowned upon here due to the possibility of chargeback scams although you may be able to find some people willing to trade.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

Look on localbitcoins.com for someone selling BTC for cash face to face (FTF) in your area first.   The next step, if you don't have anyone in your area, would be a cash deposit with someone on the site.  Definitely research their feedback ratings.  There are some with 100+, 100 trust but all within a day or 2.  Obviously, those individuals pumped their feedback by making fake accounts.  Still localbitcoins escrow the btc so it's fairly safe for the buyer.

Also,  I would never buy/sell with paypal, credit card or any reversible transaction .   There are very very few reputable people that deals that way.

Good luck on your endeavors.

Thank you everyone. I decided to stick with coinbase for buying.
