Interesting information about how smart contracts will work incorporating both LTC and Bitcoin.

What I really like about Rootstock is the turing complete platform is one step removed from the highly secure non-turing complete blockchains. That way LTC and BTC can continue to operate as designed, highly secure money with little chance of compromise. This may turn out to be an important security item when compared to other solutions.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with RSK look here:

http://www.rsk.co/

Another advantage is that one of the programming languages RSK uses is solidarity so programmers can simply switch platforms when needed.

It will have limited usage and it's mostly a gimmick. Remember that vitalik wanted to build smart contracts and dapps possiblity on bitcoin at first, but had to give up that ideea because of numerous technical challenges it presented. Biggest problem by far is the fact that it is not trustless and miners can censor.

It has it's own blockchain that will be merge mined with bitcoin. Likely all miners will adopt it because as always they like to make money. This means it will have the same security as bitcoin or litecoin in this case. It's as likely that it will be "censored" in someway as a 51 percent attack happening to bitcoin. A little far fetched.

Don't forget that Ethereum has already publically "censored" when the blockchain was changed for special interests.

I understand that you have a vested interest in Ethereum; but, to dismiss something with huge potential as a "gimmick" sounds somewhat condescending. The idea that others can't solve problems in ways that Vitalik didn't envision makes him sound somewhat God like. He's smart but, not omniscient. There are other smart folks in this space and they are moving forward.

RSK just received another round of funding at Consensus 2017. Not bad for what you dismiss as a "gimmick".

Initial support for rootstock (rsk) added to Trezor hardware wallet. Good to see activity preparing for the future.

People post their "analysis" to transform it from an educated guess to a self fullfilling prophecy, because they know that they have some influence over the n00bs and they copy their moves.
